AMD introduced the B650E chipset for motherboards compatible with Ryzen 7000 processors

AMD has introduced a new chipset called B650E, which leads to the production of motherboards for Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors.

AMD unveiled the first Ryzen 7000 series processors this morning and along with them we also saw the introduction of a new chipset. Chipset is a special chip that is used in the motherboard and it is different from normal chips.

It was previously announced that high-end motherboards based on the X670 chipset will be available for the new processors. AMD says that in addition to these motherboards, models equipped with B650 and B650 Extreme chipsets will also be available.

In the Ryzen 7000 series processors, AMD has finally decided to say goodbye to the old AM4 socket and go for the AM5 socket. The important thing is that AMD's new platform is compatible with AM4 coolers, so that the migration of users to the new generation of desktop class processors is a little less expensive than expected. Of course, we should not forget that buying DDR5 RAM puts a lot of money on the user.

According to what Anandtech writes, AMD previously said that AM5 exclusively supports DDR5, while Intel's 12th generation and 13th generation processors continue to support DDR4 RAM in addition to DDR5.

During the Computex 2022 event, AMD unveiled the X670E, X670 and B650 chipsets, and at the Ryzen 7000 presentation ceremony, it unveiled the fourth chip for motherboards, the B650E. The B650E is a member of AMD's Extreme series of chipsets and takes advantage of the PCIe 5.0 lane through at least one M.2 port.

AMD says the AM5 socket is a type of LGA socket (officially called LGA1718) and has 1,718 pins. One of the most important advantages of the AM5 socket is the CPU's native support for PCIe 5.0. PCIe 5.0 storage is expected to be available later this year.
